Where does North Carolina stand on the issue of abortion?

Answer

In a May 2022 poll by Carolina Partnership for Reform, 69 percent of North Carolina Republicans and nearly a quarter of Democrats are pro-life, which is also evidenced in a Civitas/Harper poll. Forty-two percent of North Carolina voters consider themselves pro-life.

Fifty percent of North Carolinians said they would favor a bill in the General Assembly prohibiting abortion from being performed after 13 weeks of pregnancy, with the exception of a medical emergency.

State House Democrats recently introduced legislation which would make North Carolina abortion laws some of the most extreme in the nation and worldwide, allowing an unborn baby to be a victim of abortion at any stage. We need to pray for and educate our legislators and the public so they can uphold life as a human right.
