Mississippi passed a state law in 2018, “The Gestational Age Act” protecting the unborn from abortion after 15 weeks in most instances. In the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health case, the state of Mississippi challenges Roe v. Wade. The state is advocating for the Mississippi law to be deemed Constitutional after being blocked in lower court. If successful, the Dobbs decision will return the issue of abortion law to the states to determine.
